INTEGRATIVE WELLNESS

Integrative wellness refers to the practice of blended conventional and alternative/complementary approaches to health and wellness. Historically, traditional western medicine and mental health practices have attempted to divide and treat parts of ourselves in isolation, often with fractured results. Emerging research supports an integrated approach to healing, and has been shown to be particularly effective with chronic conditions.

At ENSO Center, we seek to treat the whole person, recognizing the wisdom inherent in ancient spiritual practices and traditions that teach us to live more fully as we are: one living, vibrant organism. We offer a variety of evidence based and spiritually informed healing modalities that support the natural interwoven and interdependent systems of our mind, body, and spirit.

Our bodies are deeply intuitive, protective, and profoundly loving. In fact, our bodies provide us with the most intimate and loving relationship we will ever know while we exist on this earth. Unfortunately, our society teaches us from a very young age to separate and disconnect from this innate wisdom. Trauma and unresolved suffering can result in a widening of these fissures, trapping us in states of isolation, dissociation, fear, distress, and suffering. If left un-integrated, this state of dysregulation can manifest as actual physical illness, chronic conditions, and painful emotional symptoms. In our work, you will learn how to restore the relationship of your mind, body, and soul by curating an inner-felt sense of safety and security. The hopeful and beautiful reality is that you already hold the seeds of wisdom and healing within yourself. Our job is simply to discover the unique needs of your nervous system and follow the connected roadmap back to your own intuitive wisdom.

I am an Integrative Occupational Therapist, Bodyworker, Registered Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher, Somatic/Sensory Practitioner, and Social Worker. I utilize this training to form a holistic, nuanced approach to uncovering the profound healing and wholeness our mind, body, and spirit can intuitively offer us. There is currently a wonderful movement of embodiment and somatic practices growing in the mental health and wellness fields; I deepen this work by blending anatomical and physiological approaches with subtle body energetics and bio psycho-social interventions. I specialize in dissociation, trauma symptoms, pervasive anxiety, chronic pain and other chronic conditions, psycho-somatic symptoms, body trauma or dysmorphia/distrust following injury or illness, and behavioral approaches to meaningful habit change. I also have specialized training in pelvic floor health (non-internal exams), kinesio-taping, contracture, and scar tissue damage. My work can be particularly helpful as an adjunct to psychotherapy or talk therapy, or when you have reached a plateau in traditional therapy and need help with mind-body integration.

This work is deeply personal and meaningful for me, as it springs from my own inner practice and healing journey. In other words, I am with you on this path and wholly believe in our collective agency to heal ourselves and each other. Through my work, I am passionately committed to dismantling the harmful systems and ideologies that separate us not only from ourselves, but also from each other. I believe the true work of social justice begins with inner healing and reconciliation which then ripples out to the world we inhabit. As Rumi so poignantly wrote: "Your essence is your wealth."
